Congratulations to you for keeping your beard this summer. Not all people with beards make it through these 3 challenging months, choosing instead for a more breathable mustache or doing away with their beard completely. Do not let your patience and hard work go to waste. If you have an epic beard to maintain then maintain it and let your beard grow.
This season can make it tricky to keep your beard hydrated, clean, and healthy. Sweltering temperatures and increased outdoor time combined can severely dehydrate skin and hair. But you don’t need to just smile and bear it. There are some tips that will protect your beard from the elements, by following these you can get back to enjoying those endless days.
Drink lots of water
In this summer, the blazing sun will bring damage on your beard, drying it out and causing beard itch. You will start scratching your beard and you will lose beard hair. But if you want to protect your beard naturally, you will need to properly hydrate by drinking enough water. A beard starts with what you eat and drink or put inside your body. As you know that the water regulates the circulatory system, which stimulates hair growth and feeds the hair follicle. If you are not drinking enough water in a day, you will see that your beard will dry, breakable strands that do not grow as quickly as normal. You need to aim to drink 8-ounce glasses every day to make it work.
Wear a Hat and use hair sunscreen
You will think that a hat can only block rays from hitting your head, yes! It is true, but a hat with a wide enough lip will also shade some of your beards. Take it up a cut by hitting your beard with hair sunscreen spray. You can use the same sunscreen spray that works on top of your heads will work just as well on your beard. These sprays will hydrate the hair of the beard and prevent the sun from damaging cuticles.
Wet it before swimming
You need to wet your hair in the shower before going to take a swim and going to pool. The benefit of doing that your hair absorbs less water when it is already wet, so the chlorine will not get into your hair very easily.
Apply Beard Oil and Beard Balm
We didn’t mean to stop you from chilling at the pool and hitting the waves at the beach. But chlorine and salt water are terrible for your beard. Both remove natural oils and strip away moisture that keeps your beard hydrated. After wetting the hair apply beard oil followed by beard balm. These two products can maintain optimum moisture levels.
